Up the Hill Adventures: We're Back!

We'll see how long this lasts, but for now...we're back, baby! Something about autumn must make me want to blog, because here I am again after a long hiatus. We had a great summer, and maybe someday I'll go back and write about it and share the photos. But for now, a post on a perfect fall weekend.

The Wolf Pack

This past Friday night was the "Fall Spooktacular" at the local elementary school, where Jack & Sam's cousin Kody is in 1st grade, and where they will one day attend school. It was so cute! There was "tent or treating" for the kids (school parents who volunteered to decorate a tent and hand out treats), a scavenger hunt through a nature trail, and crafts for the kiddos. Jack had a lot of fun running around with his cousins, and he absolutely loved the haunted nature trail. Sam was content to tag along in his cute costume. He wore Jack's old skunk costume and it was just as cute the second time around. Jack decided not to wear this year's Halloween costume and instead wore his superhero costume, which is really just a dress-up outfit that he got for his 3rd birthday. It was a great night, and I look forward to more events like this at the school!

On Saturday, we headed to Buttonwoods Farm for one of our fall favorites, the corn extravaganza. I'm sure it has a more official name, but I don't know what it is, so corn extravaganza it is. Either way, it's awesome and the kids love it. This year was a bit chilly, nice and sunny, but soooo windy! We made sure everyone was nice and bundled up and made the most of it, and everyone had a good time. Jack's favorite, year after year, is the corn box. A humongous box filled with corn kernels and tons of trucks and tractors is right up his alley. Sammy loved the cute little piggies. Every time we brought him over to see them, he would start to giggle! I'm sure we'll be back again next year.
